A parking project is still stirring up controversy in San Luis Obispo.Back in May, the city council amended the Mitchell Park Master Plan to allow for a 14-space parking lot behind the San Luis Obispo Senior Center.In December, council members requested a revised plan that could strike a compromise between those for and against the lot.Tuesday night a smaller, less expensive plan went before the Council.Mitchell Park is a gathering place for San Luis Obispo families and the nearby Senior Center, but a proposed parking lot has both groups speaking out to the city council.Marcus Jones will tell you it is not always finding that front-row spot and that is especially tough for a few of his fellow seniors.There’s a lot of elderly that use walkers and canes and wheelchairs that need access, Jones said.The list of reasons is just as long for those against the project.The traffic, the children, the size of the park and just the loss of park space downtown, said San Luis Obispo resident...
